Born in a small town in western Ohio, Ethan grew up with a turn-of-the-century player piano in his living room. Before he could even reach the pedals, he sang along to traditional American tunes. At the age of six, he began to play the piano, and four years later, he tackled the tenor saxophone. In high school, he picked up the guitar and studied the styles of Angus Young and James Taylor, but complemented his hankerings for rock n’ roll with classical music theory. A decade later, Ethan learned how to play the mandolin — and has never been the same since.
